In the first series Leo Bannister (Geoffrey Palmer), having seperated from his wife, is pursued by a younger woman. In the second series the younger woman is out of his life, and he tries instead to re-build a relationship with his ex-wife. Our Review: Carla Lane had hitherto concentrated her sitcoms around the lives of women characters. In The Last Song she looks at life from the male perspective - albeit surrounded by troublesome women. |
