Danny, a rather slobbish journalist works from home while his ex-girlfriend, Beth, makes a success of her career. The love nest they once shared happily is now up for sale but, until it happens, Danny has to sleep on the living room floor while Beth has the only bedroom. Beth has adjusted well to the break-up but Danny still thinks the relationship can work and tries to make it difficult for her to bring other men back to the flat.
