Our Review: We've seen the pilot for The Stephen K Amos Show and rather enjoyed it. It took a while to bed in properly: combining a number of different formats kind-of jarred at first. Like recent BBC One and Two success The Omid Djalili Show, it is primarily stand-up interspersed with sketches. However, borrowing a hint of The Graham Norton Show there's some audience interaction added into proceedings - and further, there is a 'focus group' at the side of the stage area giving each sketch a thumbs up or down.

As can be expected, a few points in the show didn't feel entirely right, but much else was very funny indeed. Two sketches in particular, featuring Stephen's mother, and about the 'Wacky Racists', were very funny.

Overall, we've fairly high hopes for the series. Our only concern is that this kind of format would thrive given a bigger timeslot: 30 minutes is a bit limiting.
