The Spencers are prompted to move house when their old one is set to collapse, which it does as soon as the removal van turns the corner. The furniture ends up all over the road and Frank lands in a barrel of hot tar, thanks to the not-very-careful van driver. At the new house, none of the amenities appear to be working, so Frank goes in search of a telephone, and later causes trouble to flare up with his new neighbours, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis, after destroying their bedroom following an attempt to fix the water tank.
