Starting with the very humble beginnings of how the legendary British comedy troupe emerged, we learn how the cast met, their early influences and how they went on to create ground-breaking television, and their transition into movies that would change the face of comedy forever.

First released on DVD in 2009, a one-hour edited version was shown on BBC Two the same year. It wasn't until 2012 that the full six-part series was broadcast in the UK, on satellite channel Sky Arts.
