Jonathan Creek (Alan Davies) works with the amoral magician Adam Klaus (Stuart Milligan), creating a range of various magic tricks for him.

When he bumps into investigative journalist Maddy Magellan (Caroline Quentin), Jonathan suddenly finds himself reluctantly trying to solve crimes, which on the surface appear to be impossible to crack. However, Creek's superb lateral-thinking always manages to figure out what is going on.

Our Review: Probably one of the funniest British TV crime series. This was the series which gave Alan Davies (with his duffel coat) his big break on television.

Much of the show's success must be credited to the writer. Created by One Foot in the Grave's David Renwick, this comedy drama is less about the characters and more about figuring out the seemingly impossible crimes.

A new episode has been written by Renwick entitled "The Judas Man", but the episode will not be shown until Easter 2010. Sheridan Smith will turn as Joey Ross, the role she played in the 2009 New Year's episode.
