Having seen their brood leave the nest, Terry and June Fletcher contemplate all the things they had planned for just such an occasion. The arrival of Aunt Lucy, together with a large amount of luggage and a mynah bird in a cage, seems to suggest they will have to put their plans on hold.

Our Review: The start of a decade of domestic trivia in the capable hands of two quality stars. This middle-class comedy always manages to polarise opinion and the reckless antics of Terry were not to everyone's taste. The humour was so gentle that it seems difficult to imagine it falling foul of industry watchdogs and yet Mary Whitehouse thought they drank too much alcohol in it!

Writer John Chapman felt that they had taken the characters as far as they could after Series 4 and so left the show. His co-writer, Eric Merriman, continued for one more series but, after a disagreement with the BBC, refused to waive his rights to the format. So the solution was a change of name, house, work situation and the end for Aunt Lucy as the pair were transported to Terry And June.
