Hancock's Half Hour
Tony Hancock stars in Galton & Simpson's comic masterpiece, with his delusions of grandeur and acquaintances at the root of his every downfall
Welcome to 23 Railway Cuttings, East Cheam, residence of Anthony Aloysius St John Hancock - a loser whose plans and aspirations are continually ruined by bad luck, Sidney Balmoral James or, more often than not, by his own pomposity and ambition.
Our Review: Hancock's Half Hour really created what we now recognise as a sitcom. In both its original radio, and then television, incarnations, it paved the way for all shows since, and remains unsurpassed in many respects. A truly great sitcom by any reasonable definition; we really can't praise it enough.
