Matthew McConaughey, talking about the awards success of his new movie, Dallas Byers Club, says, "It's a time for celebration, it's not why we do it but boy it feels good when it's floating like this and people are saying, 'You know what? This is excellent work.' That feels good."

Talking about the 3.5st he lost to play Ron Woodroof in the film, and asked if it's frustrating that the weight loss got so much attention, he says, "I understood before the film came out that was the headline. That photo of me at the airport was the how we got people to click on the site. I got that. But I'm happy that people's reaction means the film quickly became something more than the 'Matthew McConaughey got skinny' movie. This wasn't an affectation or an eccentric idea, I had a responsibility to portray the man to the best of my ability."

On how celebrity hit when he appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair in 1996, he says, "My life changed over the weekend. The Friday before all of the scripts I wanted to do there were 99 'nos' and one 'yes' and three days later of those 100 scripts there were 99 'yeses' and one 'no.'"

Matthew reveals how his mother enjoyed his celebrity, "People started getting interested in my life and my history and all of a sudden my mum would show up in the newspapers. I told her they were things we should keep private between the family and she was like, 'Okay, Okay.' The next week I was watching Hard Copy and there was my mum escorting a tour through my bedroom. When I called her she said, 'I didn't think you would see it!'"

Talking about the resurgence of his career, or the 'McConaissance' as it has been coined, he says, "I was recalibrating my relationship with my career for sure and that meant taking some time off. I didn't have an epiphany, I just wanted to do some different things and show a different part of myself. Different chapter, same book is how I look at it. I'm now playing some wild characters that have allowed me to take the roof off."

Revealing he hasn't turned his back on romantic comedies, he says, "I'd do another romcom maybe. There is a lightness to those which is fun and I enjoy the buoyancy."

Julianne Moore, on being nominated for four Academy Awards but not winning, says, "One year my daughter felt so bad for me that she made me a BAFTA and a Golden Globe. It was so sweet."

Revealing that when people meet her she is not always what they expect, Julianne says, "People think they are saying something really nice when they say things like, 'You're so little, I thought you were bigger, or they say, 'You're prettier than I thought.' They mean well but what do you say? Thank you. I think!"

Describing her new film, Non-Stop, as "A very old fashioned movie," she says, "I get to sit next to Liam Neeson, which is always a good idea. If you're going to be in an action movie you want to sit next to the guy who is going to save the day, the guy on the poster!"

She reveals her co-star didn't impress her 11-year-old daughter, "I told her I spent the day with Liam and she said it sounded like fun so I sent her a picture and she said, 'Who's that?' I said, 'Liam Neeson' and she replied, 'No, Liam Hemsworth!' who's Liam Neeson?'"

On becoming a British Citizen at a ceremony in LA, she says, "That was the day there was a garden party for William and Kate. As an American I couldn't go, but as soon as I was sworn in I had an invitation. Being an American at heart, I thanked them for the invite but went to Disneyland instead!"

Alan Davies, talking about his four year old daughter, says "She doesn't really know what I do but because of Jonathan Creek a lot of people will shout 'Jonathan' in the street and she asked me who he was I said, 'He built the house!'"

On being recognised, he says, "I usually get, 'Are you that guy off that thing?' This woman, who had a kid of about 10 with her, asked 'Are you off the telly?' and when I said 'yes' she said, 'No you're not.' And then her son said, 'Why are you lying?' He then looks at his mum and she says, 'Dream another dream.'"

Talking about his upcoming Winter Olympics comedy entertainment show, Alan Davies Apres-Ski, he jokes, "Don't ask me about how to do any of the sports, they are far too dangerous. I've been skiing twice in my life, and one of those was in Milton Keynes."

Sheryl Crow performs Easy before joining Graham for a chat about her new album. Talking about its style she says, "It's Country and will be for ever. It makes me happy."
