Peggy Mount, a keen and accomplished sailor, bought herself a modest 17ft boat with her income from this series, and named it The Dragon.

Part of the plot Series 3 Episode 2, Court Case, was reused by writers Vince Powell and Harry Driver for the Series 2 Episode 6 edition, Strangers In The Night, of their later Thames Television sitcom Bless This House, also starring Sid James.

Sid James suffered his first heart attack during rehearsals for the second series of George And The Dragon. Against the wishes of director Shaun O'Riordan and ever the workaholic, James insisted production continue as planned, only visiting a doctor after all 7 episodes had been completed.
