Bernie Weinstock is the boss and sole employee of the Crime Busters International private detective agency. He runs his office from his caravan and business is poor. Not surprising really because he's not very good at it and has a tendency to make the wrong decisions and walk headlong into disaster.

Our Review: After many years creating popular comic characters in his own half hour sketch shows, the star decided to branch out and use some of them in this comedy/thriller series written by father and son team, John Singer and Steven Singer. Although filmed entirely on location it was then dubbed with an intrusive laughter track.

Transmission of the second series was delayed by six months after the untimely death of the star two weeks before the scheduled broadcast (13th January, 1982) and, although pleasing enough, it proved to be an unworthy epitaph for a man of immense talent.
