The TV version of Tom Basden, Lloyd Woolf, Stefan Golaszewski and Tim Key's radio sketch show observing human frailties
Sketch show from Tom Basden, Lloyd Woolf, Stefan Golaszewski and Tim Key. It offers a unique comic slant on human frailties, within an ever-shifting world full of surprise and invention. Scenarios range from Russian roulette at the dinner table to socially-awkward judges, through comic songs and animation - each infused with the Cowards' brand of joyful absurdity.
Our Review: The Cowards' Radio 4 sketch series was undeniably cleverly written and well acted, but its style was somewhat niche in appeal. This TV version is much the same - if you're a fan of deadpan, subtle, slow-moving sketches then this series will very much be up your street (the four lads in the caravan are our particular favourite sketches). However, if you prefer sketches with obvious punchlines, clearly signalled catch-phrases and skits with broad appeal then this isn't going to be your cup of tea.
