The British Comedy Awards are the main and most prestigious awards presented in the field of British comedy.

Hosted in its inaugural year by Michael Parkinson but ever since by Jonathan Ross (apart from 2008, when Angus Deayton stood in following the 'Sachsgate' scandal), the awards honour the best in sitcom, stand-up, sketch, comedy acting and entertainment.

The 2012 nominations will be revealed on 2nd December and the awards will be presented live on 12th December.
