Boom Town is a structured reality television programme, celebrating some of Britain's most wonderfully eccentric individuals.

Some of the programme's scenes have been setup and "enhanced for viewers' entertainment" but the individuals starring in the show are all real: their lives, passions and dialogue are all their own, and the BBC promises they all have the ability to entertain, simply by being themselves.

These unique individuals come from all over the UK, but if they lived in the same place, it would be Boom Town. From strippers to superheroes, the show is a feast of colourful characters, each with their very own, self-composed catchphrases and quirky qualities.

The characters are:

Alan - Care Home Worker: A 32 year-old 'frustrated performer' who is working at the Hollywood Rest Home.

Anthony the Pub Landlord: He runs a pub which doesn't have many customers. To try and get more people in through the door, he puts on regular abstract art events and exhibitions of his work.

Cream the Rapper: A musician, with Cream meaning 'Cash Rules Everything Around Me'. He started rapping at 14 and had his first record deal at 16.

Dorota the Actress: A Polish born 'multi-talented actress, artist, fashion designer, model, cultural ambassador and exclusive lady'. He husband is Atonu.

Garth - Life Coach: Garth Delikan is a life coach, motivational speaker, single dad and a women's campaigner.

Joel the Trainspotter: 24 year-old Joel lives with his parents in Royal Windsor. He's currently unemployed but does voluntary work at the local arts centre. He uploads videos of himself train spotting to the internet.

Jonny Na$h - Ladies' Man: A larger-than-life personality, with a particular interest in the ladies. He learned his range of 'seduction skills' on the streets of New York before returning home to the UK. He doesn't seem to be having much luck at the moment - but it doesn't dent his confidence.

Kev the Witch: Kevin Carlyon is a White Witch, Paranormal Researcher and Tarot Consultant. He believe in the power of positive thought and with ritualistic visualisation says he can bring about many different results for people.

Knight Warriors: Roger Hayhurst and Rebecca Wall are two ordinary people who also happen to be real-life superheroes. Operating within the Salford area, they use their 'powers' to fight crime and make Salford a safer place.

Louis the Stripper: 24-year-old Louis from Bexley Heath in Kent works as a butcher but loves to entertain. He is looking to setup a stripping agency.

Stella - Fashion Designer: Stella, also known as 'Afro British Gaga', specialises in making eye-catching fashion items out of cheap and recyclable household materials. He designs range from dish cloth body cons to body-puff twin sets.

Talina the Temptress: Talina, born in the South of Russia, has had a string of husbands and boyfriends. She uses her looks to get the best things that life can offer: sports cars, luxury holidays and presents.
