After Gruber rescues René from the dungeon, Michelle equips him with a camera disguised as a potato and sends the unwilling café owner straight back to the chateau in search of the safe containing the plans to invade England. Whose bedroom does fate dictate it's hidden in...?

René is sent back to Gruber's bedroom, in the guise of a fireman and accompanied by LeClerc, tasked with blowing open the safe. Unfortunately for him, it seems that everyone else is at the chateau too...

In the confusion of the chateau 'fire', René and LeClerc - now in full German uniform - are captured by the Communist Resistance and held captive in an old sawmill. Meanwhile, the Colonel is distraught to learn that the original Fallen Madonna and van Gogh have gone missing.

When Denise recognises René as her long-lost childhood sweetheart, she sets him free - after beginning arrangements for their wedding. Meanwhile, Helga continues to try to work her way into Gruber's confidence.

As René's wedding approaches, Edith grows increasingly wistful for their past together. Unknown to René, she plots with Michelle - for the good of the Resistance, naturally - to take Denise's place at the altar.

Upon hearing that Denise has escaped, René disguises himself as his own father and searches for a safe hiding place. With the café machine-gunned, Denise's followers capture René - but it is not him she is out to get.

With the General breathing ever-closer down his neck over the location of the paintings, the Colonel issues René an ultimatium. Meanwhile, Michelle explains her plans for a long-distance duck to transport the microfilm, and Madame Edith goes into hiding - as LeClerc.

It is, finally, time for the Generals' Conference and the planning of the invasion of England - the resistance furnish René with another suitably ridiculous photographic device to capture their plans. But it could all go awry if Mimi kills one of the attendees before the day...

All hell is breaking loose in Nouvion: the captured Generals are free, Von Klinkerhoffen is sending Gruber and Colonel Von Strohm to the Russian front, and René is sent to collect the paintings before helping them escape to South America!

Monsieur Alfonse suffers a heart attack in Flick's lair, whilst under interrogation regarding the stolen money - naturally, Michelle has a plan to liberate him before he spills the beans.

With Monsieur Alfonse now considered by Herr Flick to have been exploded by a bedpan, the Colonel sets up Captain Bertorelli to be caught with the stolen - and forged - money. Unfortunately, nothing runs smoothly...

Time is running out for Monsieur LeClerc; if he does not reveal the whereabouts of the missing money, Flick will have him shot. If he DOES reveal the whereabouts of the missing money, Michelle will have him shot: will the RAF arrive in time?

Michelle orders René to store 1,000kg of high explosive in his café - disguised as Christmas puddings! Herr Flick, meanwhile, is dealing with land mines.

The plans to drop the British airmen, concealed inside land mines, over England are progressing - but with Herr Flick's intervention, not all that well. But things could be far worse at Café René if Yvette is not careful with her candles!

Michelle's latest scheme for the escape of the airmen (involving a mini-submarine) pushes René over the edge, and he attempts to elope with Yvette - and the two original paintings - to Switzerland.

The Colonel, Gruber and Helga are after the paintings, as are Flick and Von Smallhausen. Mimi, Yvette and Madame Edith are after René. And they're all aboard the Geneva Express, which the Resistance is about to blow up with Christmas puddings...

When the paintings are hidden inside a hollowed-out statue that is then requisitioned by the General, it falls on René and co to infiltrate one of Klinkerhoffen's parties and snatch them back.

Faced with the prospect of her marrying Monsieur Alfonse, René finally proposes and arranges his re-marriage to Edith. At the chateau, General Von Klinkerhoffen is on the search for missing gold; Herr Flick is convinced that René knows its whereabouts.
