The Speedee Cabs fleet of cars are Austin FX3s, first produced for Britain's roads in 1949.

The property '5 Wilbur Place' is in fact Queen Victoria's Royal Waiting Room at Windsor & Eton Riverside railway station.

Based on a story by Sid Green and Dick Hills, Carry On Cabby was writer Talbot Rothwell's first film to be included in the series.

Originally produced as Call Me A Cab, the film received the Carry On brand only in post-production, at the insistence of distributor Anglo Amalgamated.

The Glamcabs vehicles are Mark I Ford Consul Cortina Supers, first put into production in 1962.

Charles Hawtrey could drive neither car nor moped before his appearance in Cabby, and had to learn both in the run up to filming.

Sid James and Bill Owen starred in BBC comedy drama Taxi! shortly after production for Carry On Cabby finished. The single 26-part series entertained many, but its then-peculiar mix of comic and dramatic plots failed to catch on with audiences.
