Aunty Donna - The Brown Sauce Diaries

Hi, I'm Broden Kelly, one third of Australian sketch sensation, Aunty Donna. We had such a wonderful time at last year's Edinburgh Fringe that we've decided to come back and do it all again.

Not only is Edinburgh Fringe a great opportunity to showcase our unique brand of Goofabout (copyright) comedy, it's a great chance to take in UK culture.

Something that really jumped out to me last year is your love as a nation for Brown Sauce. By God you love it... with Breakfast, Lunch or Tea! In Australia this is just not a thing. To really get inside the UK psyche I embarked on an exciting and unique investigation.

Everyday for 10 days, I consumed an entire bottle of brown sauce and reviewed the strengths, weaknesses, subtleties and general yumminess found in each brand of this delicious condiment.

Here is the diary of my findings...

Day 1 - Branston Brown Sauce: Wow, this one was especially tangy! In brief, this was a great way to start my 10 day challenge! Rich, tangy and just right!

Day 2 - HP Sauce: This Brown Sauce challenge was a big mistake. I hate brown sauce. I feel like I'm going to die. I woke up 8 times last night in a cold sweat, a cold sweat of Brown Sauce. I've emailed our publicist to see if I have to go through with this Brown Sauce challenge.

Day 3 - Daddies Brown Sauce: I need to stop drinking Brown Sauce. I've already started having Brown Sauce hallucinations. No luck pulling out, apparently I signed something that says I have to complete this or face severe legal repercussions. I really dislike Brown Sauce.

Day 4 - Hammonds of Yorkshire Chop Brown Sauce: Went to the doctor's today about the Brown Sauce. He told me I should keep drinking Brown Sauce, if anything I should drink more Brown Sauce. It was at this point in time I realised I had been talking to a bottle of Brown Sauce.

Day 5 - OK Sauce: Brown.

Day 6 - Chef Brown Sauce: Sauce.

Day 7 - YR Sauce: I am an Angel. A Lord. I can read your minds and see far beyond mere mortal boundaries of the mind. I will drink your Brown Sauce.

Day 8 - Bill's Brown Sauce: Wow! My favourite so far. The richness and evenness of the vinegar sat the best for me out of all the Brown Sauces so far. This Brown Sauce would be great with a Shepard's Pie or a fresh piece of Cod. I reckon this would be a great little kicker in a rich hearty stew or casserole as well! Gorgeous!

Day 9 - Brit Brown: 私��'殺��-て

Day 10 - Western Brown Sauce: I've grown a great deal over these past 10 days. As an Artist and Man. Whilst apprehensive in the beginning to the Brown Sauce, I now understand that I am Brown Sauce, that humanity IS Brown Sauce. It only took drinking 10 litres of old fashioned Brown Sauce to show me the light.
