Full Press Release

James Sherwood will be performing his brand new show I Fed My Best Friend Her Favourite Cow in the Gilded Balloon Wee Room throughout the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. James investigates the difference between the good and the bad through ingenious stand-up and strikingly perceptive songs.

What makes someone 'good' or 'bad'? James is scouring the UK for answers. I Fed My Best Friend Her Favourite Cow is only one of the reasons for being bad that James has teased from his ever-growing audience. This year in Edinburgh, James will unveil an array of answers infused with musical masterpieces.

Calling on the piano skills which he has previously showcased in Fringe shows including Songs Of Music, At The Piano and One Man And His Piano, James will perform musical numbers about morally ambiguous fictional characters to illustrate his point.

These musical interludes will include Beverley Tring Did A Bad Thing which tells the twisted satirical tale of little Beverley, who is haunted by the fear of doing something wrong.

I Fed My Best Friend Her Favourite Cow dismantles the idea that people and actions can all be mapped on a continuum between evil and saintly. Yes, it is possible to decide how good or bad a person is, but it's a total waste of time.

James performed at the 2010 Hollywood Fringe Festival, picking up the award for Best Comedy and Best International Show as part of the 'British Invasion' strand. As well as performing regularly in comedy clubs up and down the country, he also hosts his own acclaimed monthly stand-up and music night, James Sherwood's Piano Bar.

James contributes the funnies to radio shows across the BBC, including The Now Show, The News Quiz and Look Away Now. During 2010's General Election campaign he appeared on Radio 4's Vote Now Show singing original satirical songs. As a professional classical singer, chorister and musician, he was ideally placed to write for BBC Radio 3's recent comedy offering The Right Notes In The Wrong Order. He devised and wrote for the panel show I Guess That's Why They Call It The News, which ran in Radio 4's prestigious Friday night 6.30 topical slot in Summer 2009.
