Josh Widdicombe: How I will be spending my time in Edinburgh

Josh Widdicombe

Josh Widdicombe, the hotly tipped up-and-coming comic, and winner of the FHM Stand Up Hero competition, tells us how he will be spending his spare time at the Edinburgh festival this year...

1) Playing: To be precise, playing Pro Evolution Soccer on my flatmate's Xbox. I thought this would be a good way to de-stress. However, I found myself throwing the control pad on the floor after a particularly galling defeat to the computer the other day so I think I may have to give up.

2) Drinking: I had decided I wasn't going to drink in Edinburgh but I knew that is almost impossible. The combination of daily stress and all my friends being nearby makes it unlikely I will make it home sober each night. Next year I promise it will be different.

3) Sitting: I live with non-comics back in London and so normally when I get up in the morning I have an empty house to be in all day. Up here I am in a house of people who also have nothing to do with their day so I find myself struggling to get beyond sitting and drinking tea with them for most of my day.

4) Sleeping: Edinburgh is a good place to catch up on lost sleep from the previous year. I have a terrible bed back in London, so it is nice not to wake up with a cricked neck and a bad mood. I have also got into napping recently, it is really good way to spend your time. If you haven't tried it you really should.

Josh is performing 'If This Show Saves One Life' at 7:15pm at the Pleasance Courtyard every day (except 15th). Listing
