He said something that really got my back up on that show. Wish I could remember the specifics.
"That David Tennant's a right poncy twat and easily the worst Doctor Who." ...Was it something like that, Zooo?

Haha!
No, Vic Reeves was also a guest on the same night and Kay said something by accident that clearly showed he thought of himself as the big star of the evening that they'd been building up to, and the 'funny guest'.
Just can't remember it word for word.
F**king egotistical c**t.
Everything should have a bobble on it

Didn't Kay fall out with Dave Spikey? So you might be right.

Yeah, he fell out with both Spikey and Fitzmaurice.
And Daniel Kitson (who was in a few episodes of Nights) can't stand Kay either.

I'm struggling to think of anyone who he is known to be friends with?

Paddy McGuiness? A man so clever and funny his stand up show involved him throwing food around that he sends his tour manager to go and buy from Greggs.

He is talented, though. And with talent often comes ego. Therefore you will get clashes. Very few major comic figures go through their careers with no "stories" about how difficult they are to work with, or rumours of feuds with co-stars etc.

I wonder who's got more friends nowadays, Peter Kay or Chris Langham?

Maybe things haven't worked out for him quite as he'd hoped. While Coogan and Gervais and Pegg have gone on to Hollywood and beyond, he's stuck ploughing the same furrow he was five or ten years ago.

Langham. A lot of people still really like him.

Ever since I read about McGuiness (supposedly) trying to bed a 14-year old he met, I don't really consider his existence.
But good call though.

I get the (entirely factually baseless) impression that general consensus is that whilst Langham was a bit of a naughty boy, he just f**ked up majorly, and is actually a jolly decent guy. Whilst Kay is just an uncaring, ruthless c**t.
I know which of them I'd rather leave my children with, and it's not our jolly northern chum.

Just read about this in the Radio Times, and it seems like the normally reliable BSG has got the show title wrong. It's actually called "Peter Kay's Britain's Got the Pop Factor..." etc etc etc. Back in the day I thought "That Peter Kay Thing" was a clever title ("did you watch that Peter Kay thing last night?"). He then went on to "Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights" (someone will correct me, but I think it was originally Phoenix Nights and then the Peter Kay bit was added). Now we have Peter Kay's Britain's got the oodly doodly - never mind the fact that the title is made even more clumsy by sticking Peter Kay at the front of it, what does it say about the guy's ego?

So the fact that me (might) have done that is enough for you to deny him as a human being? Do you write for the Mail at all?
