No Heroics - Series 1

It looks all right and a cast of familiar faces.

What worries me is that it's an ITV2 show, home of Katy Brand, Colleen Rooney and Jordan. Hopefully this show will be the exception to that rule.

That looks great.

I was just thinking this comedy needed its own thread. It's quite fun playing 'spot the comedian' in that trailer - excluding the main leads I spotted six others I recognise.

Looking at the trailer, it would appear to be. Looks like a good solid Z-list celebrity-free sitcom.

What's up with James Lance's accent though?!?

Looks good. The bits with Excelsor seemed the funnier bits.

I'm looking forward to this.

Regarding James Lance's accent: There's a scene in that trailer where he says something about being Spanish, I believe. In the beginning I thought it was meant to be Eastern European.

ITV have put on some good stuff lately, Moving Wallpaper, the drama about the royal family... um... Moving Wallpaper...

This show looks pretty much like a less funny, less clever, less consistant, less comedically varied version of Defenders of Stan: http://ny.channel101.com/show.php?show=88

I'll definately give it a go, though. Superheroes aren't COMPLETELY overdone yet are they?

Goddamn, did someone just make something in this country with a bit of production value and jokes?

Just a reminder: No Heroics starts tonight (ITV2, 10:30pm)

And we've just published an interview with creator Drew Pearce: https://www.comedy.co.uk/tv/no_heroics/interview/

It certainly has a great cast, don't it.

Really looking forward to this.

Good interview as well. Thanks chaps.

I'll be interested to see if this breaks the Nicholas Burns curse for me. So far I've admired a number of shows he's been in without actually liking them a great deal. He does have a habit of starring in emotionally cold pieces of work.

Sadly no

Quite enjoyed it. An interesting concept, a strong cast and some laughs here and there so deserves to be persevered with. The girl from Pulling (is it Rebekah Staton?) has been asked to play the exact same character here though.

What is this? The woman on the bed, the shopkeeper. Was that it? Was that a half hour comedy? What is the point of writing something like this with no depth, no characters, no longevity. They had some good male actors there and they did nothing with them.

You can't tell me that was drafted several times. And what was with the girl swearing all the time? That added lots Rolling eyes
