This looks useful.
I'll be on the lookout.

I just looked out of my window.

Isn't Cwncarn a special move in Street Fighter?

Sounds like a big PR stunt of little value to me.

Well to my mind they're doing it to keep up the façade of the Writers Room.
Though if it keeps substandard material away from the people who really matter, than that keeps me happy.

Seem like good sorts to me.

Such a good question, it needed to be said twice.
I personally don't think the WR is all that useful, that's all.
Don't see what they can say that isn't on the website already.

Have you had a bad experience with them? I know of one poster here who has just been commissioned, last week, to write a radio play for the BBC through them.

Not me personally, but it seemed that if they get 1000 scripts per month they won't give stuff with potential any real thought. That and a lot of people seemed to have bad experiences.
Though the WR aren't even on my radar so I won't get worked up

Ooh, who? Spill it! I always got the impression that The Writers Room takes something forward like once every five years! Im exaggerating. A bit.

They did a thing in Bristol a couple of years ago where they sent out some WR peeps to preview a competition. So I went along to see who was rejecting my scripts. The problem is now, what I'm going to say is going to seem like the old sour grapes but I think I pretty much call it as I see it so.... f**king nobs. A plum each which should have been removed from their mouths and stuck up there arses. They read out some writers entries from a previous competition which they liked. Everybody in the room except a few mad people down the front just looked at each other. Drivel. That was only three of them though. Soooooo pip pip as I'm sure they say as their servants peel their oranges.
Genius.
