Wow. That seemed to me like it could be the last episode ever! More-or-less everything was wrapped up. I hope not, this is a great comedy.

It was the last episode of the series, but whether it is the last episode ever remains to be seen. They've clearly left it open for more (and believe they want to do more) but the rumours are that they might not get that opportunity (as BBC3 faces a £10m budget cut), hence why many of the plotlines were resolved on Monday.
To quote the BBC3 controller: "Ideal, the Manchester-based Johnny Vegas sitcom about a hopeless drug dealer, may be at an end".

Yes the Fist character has a real haunting quality.
While I watched the end last night, I wonderered whether Graham Duff was trying to deliver a message about the evils of drugs and dealing. Even if Moz's choice of lifestyle seems harmless enough, he ended up losing everything, his long term partner, her child, his best mate and his new love. Not to mention the difficulty he was going to have getting rid of the bodies.

I'd not viewed it like that - but now you mention it... good point!
As for Fist, that was the one thing that really annoyed me about this series. He was never properly used and ended up being a bit of un-explained padding. Curiously whoever was playing Fist didn't want to be credited, the credits read: "Fist: As Himself".

EDIT: I've found it on tinternet, it's called 'Enter One' by Sol Seppy. Here's link where you can listen to the track. http://www.myspace.com/solseppy

Thanks Mark, though I just got lucky.
The more I think about it the less likely I feel it is that we'll see another series of Ideal. Shame, there a PLENTY of other programs on BBC3 I'd prefer to get rid of ahead of Ideal. Two pints of Bollocks, Little Miss Jocelyn, the one with the 3 women (3 non blondes is it?), & Lily Allen's terrible attempt presenting.

Two Pints is more than welcome to stay!

Hi all, thought I would register to reply some stuff
First of all, I would be extremely disappointed if this was to be the last series. But like was mentioned, I think it might well be as the 'message' about how drugs can bring you all sorts of problems (by Jenny getting shot) is what we saw in the last episode.
Further more, I didn't like fist...... not one bit. I understand he had a connection with the christians, but it wasn't explained well why he was there specifically.
Apart from that, I've loved Ideal, I watched every single episode from start to finish in one day so i could be straight about the plots (although not very complex, it seems to be when you're stoned!).
I'd say get rid of 'Two Pints', & 'Family Guy (as they only seem to play 2 of the 10 episodes they have apparently bought, resulting in mind numbing repeats day in, day out)', and pretty much every other program that is wrongfully classed as 'comedy'.
If we don't get to see any more 'Ideal' then I would still be very interested to see what Graham Duff has to offer in the future

I'm convinced that it was Graham Duff playing Fist: right height & build, a distinctive eye (honest! ;-)) and a set of false gnashers
I'll be really, really miffed if there isn't another series.

Anyone think what Tony the Triad said to Moz was a lead on to another series? He told Moz he would regret letting Psycho Paul & his gang use his flat to keep them hostage.
Ahhh I dunno...... I'm just trying to find some comfort lol

If you look into any final episode closely enough, you'll see things like that. Tie-ups enough to answer questions in case of no new series', but just enough to lead on from if another is commissioned!
And welcome to the site.

Thanks
I'm pretty sure in my mind that it is the last ever....... Brian kissing himself in the mirror to me means the end as he was always looking for 'the one', and ultimately found him... in himself.
Ah well..... won't be watching anything else BBC3 have to offer.

Series 4 was great, I really think they can get at least one more series out of this, it's BBC3's only decent show.
By the way a soundtrack to all four series is out soon.

Hi people,
Does anyone know where I could buy a 'Cartoon Head' mask? I do realise this is very random. Any response appreciated.

I didn't know if anyone had reported yet. But Graham Duff confirmed on his official forum that there will indeed be a series 5!
