Just researched it. A nice link with Steeleye Span there.

This one may well have been posted earlier in the year.

Tursiops?

A "cheerful" little ditty for a Friday night from Britain's last surviving protest singer. Whether or not the lyrics are appreciated - some will and some won't - that guitar tuning is, well, how best to put it? Something else.

None The Wiser - Chris Wood

Not me, after Steeleye Gay and Terry do not pop up in my CD collection again until Auto Da Fe and the Pogues.

That is rather nice though, it shows a progression from Sweeney's Men, so the Woods obviously took something from their brief dalliance with the Steeleye crowd.

I meant the Chris Wood.

Whatever the description, I really like his work.

It also seemed like the sort of track you would post. :)

Oh right. I must admit a slight blind spot for Chris Wood, but I certainly agree with the sentiments!

Apologies. Second guessing is not what it used to be. But we all could be seeing more of him if the folk music people become a force. Apparently, most are determined that he will one day be the Prime Minister.

Listening to one of the great 'lost' acts of the 70s - Seals and Crofts. Still find it unfathomable that there has never been a proper anthology released for these guys.

Live version of my favourite of their hits (Diamond Girl)

Didn't they write Summer Breeze that the Isley Brothers had a hit with?

I saw them at QPR's ground in the mid-70s supporting Yes amongst others.

After Steeleye, Gay and Terry Woods briefly joined Dr Strangely Strange but left after a few weeks apparently because DSS were too ramshackle for their liking.

It is rather pleasant , but I can kind of see where the Woods were coming from with the ramshackle thing. Slightly ironic though that they were thrown out of Steeleye for their lack of professionalism.

Yep, that was their breakthrough hit in the US, they had a pretty constant stream of them between 1972 and 78 (and were very popular in NZ/Australia as well, not sure how they fared anywhere else) but never came near the UK charts. The time you saw them was probably the same visit as their appearance on 'The Old Grey Whistle Test' - saw them doing their version of 'Summer Breeze' from that on one of the 'singer-songwriter' compilations on BBC4 a few years ago. Which was nice.
