Star Trek Page 2

They were great. A bit similar to the Cybermen, but used in a much better, creepier manner.

Before the Borg Queen.

DAMN YOU BORG QUEEEEEEN!!

Well within the limitations that any scifi show works the Borg worked.
The inability to focus on what seemed irrelevant was way better than Storm trooper marksmanship. Or why ever it is Daleks f**k up.

I love Trek it's proper good telly. TOS episodes are surprisingly solid and Patrick Stewart could act well enough for the whole cast.

She was awful.

But it was Voyager who utterly, utterly, totally destroyed the Borg.

F**k you Mrs Columbo!

They even look not too far away from the thrown together Cybermen in their first story. Like I said though, they were used much better, the Cybermen have mainly been used as stomping soldiers.

Oh God. Voayger....7 of 9....Neelix ARGHHH NOOOO! It never happened!

Early Troughton Cybermen were rather good. Sinister, plotting, implacable.

New Who Cybermen are shit and look shit.

Maybe they could guest spot in Sherlock?

New Who Cybermen are shit and look shit.

Though one was at least used effectively this year.

Anyway, Star Trek!

I LOVE Neelix. Maybe because I was nine.

One off

The third series of the original series was very ropey indeed.
I was going to talk about 'The Wink of an eye' and it's problems with the supposed speed of things. But 'Spocks Brain' neatly sums up how far they had fallen.

Series 1 & 2 had some corkers though. 'Amok Time' among others.

I think the first series is a class above any of the others I've been aware of.
Episodes such as "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield" are truly stirring, with such a brave story and such memorable characters.

Having said that, the one with the Black & White Riddler was from season 3 wasn't it?

Last ST film ... best film in cinema I had seen for a while. Why? Because it had a story well told.

And a good pace.
That was inspired by the pace of Star Wars movies according to the DVD

Are you talking to yourself again, Marc??

Really?! I've never thought of them as being fast movies.

And some top notch acting surely.

The last film was really good, but I thought the bad guy was, in the end, a bit weak.
