When I was a kid, I found that I loved unheard of bands and went cool on them once they hit mainstream. Knowing this was going to happen, I'd love them all the more while they were still relatively unknown.
I don't think the same thing is happening now, especially as I'm aware of it, but I genuinely think that the Penny Dreadfuls, on stage at least, are amongst the funniest, cleverest and most innovative performers around.
Aenaes Faversham Forever in Edinburgh last year, was one of the most inspirational things I've ever seen - and they're there again this year - get on it!
