What are you listening to now? Page 1,186

The first time I saw The Who was in Orlando in 1982 and Joan Jett opened that show, too. A nice set of bookends.

Yes.

My favourite Who track is Baba O'Riley.

It is sure bound to be livelier than here tonight.

But we are past midnight. :)

Having a few pre-show beers before walking across the street to see The Who (The Two?) and Joan Jett in Austin, Texas.

Is Kenney Jones on drums? Then it would be the Small Face also.

Ringo's son, Zak, will be playing drums.

It was a great show. Here's a few minutes of video that someone uploaded to YouTube:

Thanks, DB! Oh, looks like Daltrey has put on a bit of weight.

Back to life - Soul II Soul on Trevor Nelson's Radio 2 show. Nice to listen to this for a change. He plays some good soul stuff.

The record of 1989.

It thumped through every urban window.

And it pumped in every cool car. :)

My book-end - or almost, it's from 1981 - is this one. From the Isle of Wight rather than Brixton and nowhere near what was to become super league status, Level 42 - who? - were considered in some places I went to then very cutting edge. Especially summer garden parties that were too posh for me.

Them and Shakatack were good to a general pop fan.

They used to live next to the swingboats on Farthing Downs.

I don't know who was weirder.

Her or Daphne Oram.

But both were ahead of the game. :)
