Alvin Stardust aka Shane Fenton dies aged 72 - RIP.

Saw him as a blond Shane many, many years ago at a local dance hall.

What's more, that rare breed, a 70s celeb not on Yewtree's books.
And this despite regularly showing young people his ring on TOTP.

Yes. He made it as a glam rock star with his tongue firmly in his cheek - and he still managed to sing!

He was married to the lovely Lisa Goddard if I remember rightly.

I have a single of his from when he was resurrected on Stiff, in the early 80s I think.

RIP.
