Comedy Map: Who Thinks They're The Funniest?

Which region of the UK houses the funniest people? It's hard to say... but a survey shows that Londoners think they're the funniest. The results are shown on the map below.

The survey, conducted by Foster's lager, has revealed that the average Brit thinks they make their family, friends and co-workers laugh about six times a day. However, a cocky 5% of respondents claim they get laughs at least 16 times a day; and a sad one in ten say they have absolutely no confidence in their ability to provoke laughter and say they never make people laugh.

As you can see below, the residents of London rate themselves as the funniest, whilst the modest folks from the South West are the least likely to think they can make you laugh.

Foster's Comedy Map - Do You Consider Yourself Funny?.

The results should be taken with a strong pinch of salt, as this is people's own view of themselves. A look at the current roster of A-list stand-up stars shows that the nation's funny bones are probably more evenly spread, with the likes of Frankie Boyle in Scotland; Sarah Millican from the North; Manchester's Jason Manford; Welsh hero Rhod Gilbert; London's Michael McIntyre and Bristol boy Russell Howard all TV regulars.
